At SMM Hamburg, Anglo Belgian Corporation (ABC) has launched the 20EV23, a 20-cylinder, medium-speed engine designed for efficiency, power, fuel flexibility and environmental performance. Part of the Evolve family, the compact engine is capable of delivering high response times even at heavy load pickup.
This four-stroke model utilizes 20 cylinders with a 360 kW per cylinder output; it has a bore x stroke of 230 mm x 310 mm. The engine comes with Pump-Line-Nozzle (PLN) or common rail with micro pilot fuel injection, which facilitates dual-fuel application. Nominal power extends from 3960 to 7200 kW (3385 to 9790 hp) with two-stage turbocharger is used. Engine speed ranges from 400 rpm (idling) to 1200 rpm.
The cylinder heads are adaptive to multi-fuel solutions, including liquid, gaseous and dual fuel, with easy conversion to different fuel types. The engine is predesigned to integrate current and future technologies, including liquid fuel injection, dual-fuel and spark-ignited systems.
Manufactured in Belgium, the 20EV23 is suited for navy vessels, passenger ships and ferries. Its exhaust aftertreatment system (EATS) provides for IMO Tier II and IMO Tier III and EU Stage V and EPA Tier 4 compliance.
