Booking your holiday in advance can save you money. There will be a wider choice available by booking early, and a good choice of destinations. Booking early generally means you can pay a deposit, with the balance due 10 weeks prior to your travel date, which means you can budget for your holiday, and even pay in instalments if you wish. A little research before booking is a great idea, search out the countries where the British Pound is still offering a great exchange rate – travelling to the USA £6 will give you $10, £1 British pound will get you 10 Egyptian pounds, but be careful as the rates can change daily. When looking for your holiday, get prices for different board types, eg All Inclusive, Half Board etc. Often the difference in cost is very little, but by booking one of these board options your holiday spending money will go further – All inclusive includes all meals, snacks, ice creams, soft drinks and local alcoholic drinks.
Booking excursions through a representative can cost more than booking direct at the hotel reception or direct with the excursion company. The reps are usually on a commission for how many tours they sell, and someone has to pay that commission!!
Finally if you can travel mid-week, keeping away from weekend flights, the flight prices are very often cheaper on weekdays, and therefore greater savings are achieved, which has to be good news for everyone.
